Tom GITOGO

Tom joined Britam on 1st September 2022 as the Group MD and CEO, of Britam Holdings Plc, a leading diversified financial services group, present in seven African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Malawi and Mozambique.

He is an accomplished Financial Services Professional and Board level leader, skilled in General Management, Commercial and Business Strategy, Sales, Finance Operations, and Talent Management, having spent over 30 years in various roles in the financial services industry in Africa and Europe.

Prior to rejoining Britam, Tom was the Group CEO of CIC Insurance Group with operations in four African countries. He was also CEO of Pan Africa Life (now Sanlam Insurance) and Finance Director at Britam (formerly British American Group). He also worked at PWC as an Auditor in his early career.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Moi University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) and a member of the Institute of Directors of Kenya (IOD).

Tom sits on several boards and is the Chairman of the Mayfair CIB Bank Board. He has previously served as the Vice Chairman of the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), Chairman of the Life Insurance Council (LIC) at AKI, Vice Chairman of International Cooperatives and Mutual Insurance Federation – ICMIF, and as the Kenyan representative in the Life Forum of Africa Insurance Organization (AIO).
