Thomas GIROD

Thomas Girod joined BII in 2020. As an Investment Director in the Financial Services Group, he provides term financing to financial institutions in Africa and Asia. Such BII investments are designed to support local market lending to under-served segments of the economy including MSMEs, climate-related projects or women-led businesses. This is further achieved by strengthening the capacity of financial institutions to lend to the targeted segments through the provision of technical assistance. Thomas has a particular focus on climate, lending to fintech companies, and coverage of the Francophone Africa and South-East Asia regions.

Thomas has over 20 years of banking experience in the financial sector in the fields of development finance, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. Prior to BII, he worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Deutsche Bank, Hines Associates and Citigroup. He is a graduate of HEC Paris.
