Sid'Ahmed Ould BOUH

Minister of Finance and the Economy / Islamic Republic of Mauritania

Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in public finance and economic development.

He completed his primary and secondary education in Aioun and Kiffa, earning a degree in Economics from the University of Nouakchott. He furthered his studies in Tunisia, obtaining a diploma from the National School of Administration with a specialization in programming and public fund management.

Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh began his career in 2000 as an administrative officer within the financial division of the Ministry of Finance. Over the years, he has held several strategic positions, including:

Head of the Markets and Investment Expenditures Division at the Budget Directorate
Deputy Inspector General at the General Inspectorate of State
Economist at the World Bank
Director General for the Development of the Nouadhibou Free Zone
Executive Director of the Biodiversity Trust Fund
Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance, responsible for promoting the private sector
Chair of the Technical Committee on Public-Private Partnerships
In addition, he has held prominent international roles, such as:

Director of the Institutional Services Division at the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade, based in Tunis
General Coordinator of the Strategic Priorities Monitoring Unit at the Presidency of the Republic
Delegate of the African Union Presidency to the G20
Since his appointment as Minister of Economy and Finance, Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh has been committed to advancing Mauritania’s economic development by strengthening public-private partnerships and ensuring effective management of public finances.

He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
