Philip SIGWART

Philip Sigwart has been the Group CEO of Baobab Group since 2019. Baobab Group is a leading provider of microfinance and SME financing in Africa, operating across seven countries and serving more than 500,000 active clients. Before joining Baobab Group, Philip was the Director of SME Banking at Equity Group Holdings, a prominent East African banking group. He previously held senior management positions with ProCredit Group in both Eastern Europe and Africa. Philip began his career with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Russia Small Business Fund. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
