Cheikh Tidiane DIAGNE

Cheikh Tidiane Diagne is the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency’s (MIGA) Head for the Maghreb and Sahel Region. Based in Rabat, Cheikh Tidiane leads MIGA and the World Bank Group Guarantee Platform’s business development efforts for the Maghreb and Sahel Region. His responsibilities include managing relationships with host governments, private sector investors and development partners. He also focuses on the implementation of MIGA and the World Bank Group Guarantee Platform’s strategy in Africa.
At MIGA, Cheikh has held various roles including origination, structuring and execution of guarantee transactions with a focus on infrastructure projects.
Before joining MIGA, Cheikh served as an Underwriter, Structured Finance, and Investment with the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia. Throughout his career, he has also worked in banking, corporate finance, and advisory roles in various countries, including the UK, Spain, Cote d’Ivoire, and Senegal.
Cheikh holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Science from Queen Mary, University of London. He has also pursued executive education certificates from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia).
A Senegalese national, Cheikh is a native French and Wolof speaker. He is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.
