AFIS AFRICAN BANKER
The “AFIS African Banker” highlights the crucial role of the banking sector in the development of the economy of the continent. This award recognises the CEO of an African bank that has distinguished itself with its strategy of regional expansion and innovation, its financial performance, its community impact, and the expansion of its activities.
Eligible candidates
- Any African CEO of a banking company based in Africa, with a net income of at least €100 million annually and operational in more than five African countries.
- Entries through individual applications, nominations by a third party (company or individual), or identification by the AFIS editorial team.
Criteria
- Major acquisition or investment made in the past year thanks to the CEO (scope and potential impact on the company’s business)
- Reputation, influence and expertise recognised by the CEO’s peers in his or her sector and in the broader business community
- Number of jobs created in Africa in the last year (excluding home country)
- Pan-African expansion strategy: key strategy components and level of achievement versus remaining goals
- A key project carried out this year
- Financial Performance: please provide the data for the years 2022 and 2023 in the form below
- Innovation and digital transformation: Introduction of new products and services / Adoption of new technologies
- Market share of loans and deposits and customer growth
Award ceremony
The call for applications is open until 28th October 2024.
Pre-selected companies will be notified one month before the event. They commit to send one of their executives to the award ceremony.
The winning company will be awarded during a special session at the next Africa Financial Summit, December 9-10, 2024 in Casablanca, Morocco.
