Since 2021, Nadia Fettah has been one of the key figures in Aziz Akhannouch’s government as the Minister of Economy and Finance. Born in Rabat in 1971 and a graduate of HEC Paris, she chose to return to Morocco after her studies to make a direct impact on the country’s economic development. She began her career in consulting at Arthur Andersen, before shifting to private equity in Africa. In 2000, she launched Maroc Invest, a fund aimed at financing Moroccan businesses. Her career took a major turn in 2005 when she joined Saham Assurance, becoming the first female CEO of the group. Under her leadership, Saham expanded across Africa and completed a key partnership with the South African group Sanlam, worth over a billion dollars. In 2019, she was appointed Minister of Handicrafts and Tourism, and in 2020, she took charge of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, becoming the first woman to hold this position in Morocco. Her leadership is marked by a strong commitment to South-South cooperation and a focused effort to enhance Morocco’s economic competitiveness and financial system stability.

Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR is an investor, banker and philanthropist with a track record of major accomplishments in both for-profit and not-for-profit initiatives within Nigeria and beyond. He co-founded Tengen Family Office and oversees a significant portfolio of investments and businesses in banking, finance, insurance, technology, real estate and energy. Through the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation and its subsidiaries, the Africa Initiative for Governance and the Aig-Imoukhuede Institute, he is focused on building Nigeria’s next generation of government leaders, helping transform public sector effectiveness, and improving access to quality primary health care. His career in banking and finance which spans over three decades in financial markets, investment banking, risk management, strategy and commercial banking has earned him international recognition. He was the Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc between 2002 and 2013 where he led its transformation to a top five bank in Nigeria. Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede was a member of Nigeria’s Banker’s Committee and in 2012, he led the banking sector’s’ voluntary adoption of the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles, an initiative that has since been emulated by several countries across the world. As Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fuel Subsidies, he is credited with saving Nigeria more than $6 billion in fraudulent petroleum subsidy claims. He is the founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Financial Market Dealers Association and led the establishment of the FMDQ Securities Exchange. He was elected president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Council in 2013, becoming the first African to earn the privilege of chairing two national exchange platforms. As president of the Exchange, he championed demutualisation, which was successfully completed in 2021. He holds an Executive MBA jointly awarded by the London School of Economics, New York University and HEC Paris. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Benin and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987. He received honorary degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He serves as Chairman of Enterprise NGR, a Nigerian financial and related professional services advocacy group. He was appointed a member of Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government International Advisory Board in 2017. His contributions towards universal health care for all Africans led to his appointment in 2011 as the first African co-chairman of the New York- based GBC Health, a private sector coalition against HIV, malaria and tuberculosis. He is a Board Member of the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

Aliou Maïga is IFC’s Regional Director for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Africa. In this capacity, he is responsible for the implementation of IFC’s strategy in the region and leads all FIG operations, including the execution of investment transactions and portfolio oversight. He also leads the advisory teams and works with the World Bank on needed sector policy reforms to develop new opportunities and markets. He has been with IFC for more than twenty years and held several positions with increasing responsibilities before his appointment to his current position in September 2022. Prior to his current position, Mr. Maïga was IFC’s Regional Director for West and Central Africa. He oversaw IFC’s advisory and investment operations in 22 countries. He also maintained the institution’s relationships with clients, partners, and governments. Previously, Mr. Maïga was IFC’s Regional Industry Head, FIG, Sub-Saharan Africa, for four years. He oversaw investment and advisory services operations in the financial sector across the region. Earlier in his career, Mr. Maïga served as IFC’s Resident Representative in Ethiopia, before moving to Asia as Regional Manager, Financial Institutions Group for East Asia and Pacific. Mr. Maïga has been instrumental in building IFC’s FIG business in Africa and East Asia over the past decade. Before joining investment operations, Mr. Maïga led a major IT and change management project for IFC for two years.

Since June 7, 2022, Jean-Claude Kassi BROU has been serving as the Governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), where he plays a central role in shaping regional economic policies. With over 40 years of experience, his career spans key positions both internationally and in Côte d’Ivoire. Between 1982 and 1990, he worked at the IMF, including as Resident Representative in Senegal, contributing to economic reforms across Africa. He also served as the World Bank Representative for Chad from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, he was appointed Minister of Industry, later adding Mines to his portfolio in 2013. His reforms in the mining sector attracted significant investments, making Côte d’Ivoire one of Africa’s top gold producers. In 2018, he was elected President of the ECOWAS Commission, where he focused on regional economic integration. Additionally, he held key government positions in Côte d’Ivoire, including Economic and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Privatization Committee, contributing significantly to the country’s economic development.

Jules Ngankam has over 15 years of experience in banking and financial services with leading financial institutions. Prior to his current role, he was the Group Deputy CEO of African Guarantee Fund. Jules worked for over 8 years at Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays PLC, in various roles including rates strategist, rates trader and treasury vice-president. In his latest position, he focused on the management of the Group’s liquidity, interest rates risk and foreign exchange risk in their balance sheet and the implementation of their internal funding curves and transfer pricing. A Cameroonian national, Jules is a graduate of ENSAE (Paris) in statistics and economics and of ESSEC Business School in Paris. He also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Paris Dauphine in France. Jules is passionate about leveraging financial innovation to support sustainable development and financial inclusion.

With a degree in Engineering from ENSTA-Paris, Mohamed El Kettani began his banking career in 1984 when he joined the Banque Commerciale du Maroc (BCM). In 2007, he became CEO of the Attijariwafa Bank Group and has since led its national and regional development to make it the leading bank in the Maghreb and the seventh best bank in Africa. He is an Officer of the Order of the Throne of HM King Mohammed and an Officer of the Order of Legion of Honor of the French Republic. He has been awarded in 2019 the “CEO of the Year” Award at the AFRICA CEO FORUM 2019.

Jeremy Awori is the Group CEO of Ecobank. He brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, including nearly ten years as Managing Director of Absa Bank Kenya Plc. Prior to joining Absa, he held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank in the Middle East and Africa. His extensive expertise, skills and industry know-how make him a valuable asset to the Ecobank Group.

Adama COULIBALY has been Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Finance and Budget since October 17, 2023. He has also served as President of the Council of Ministers of the WAMU since January 2023. Before that, he was Chief of Staff and then Minister within the Ministry of Economy and Finance, following his return to Côte d’Ivoire in 2014. An economist with a PhD in Economic Sciences, he spent many years with the UNDP: first as an economist in Abidjan, then in New York, before becoming Deputy Resident Representative in Burundi and Country Director in Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he supported major public finance management reforms. He began his professional career as a lecturer and researcher at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny University and at CIRES.

Serigne Dioum has been Head of FinTech at MTN Group Limited since September 2013. Serigne is responsible for driving MTN Mobile Money and related mobile financial services products and services across the MTN footprint. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecoms industry and a qualification in telecommunications engineering from the French institution ENST Bretagne. He served as the Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Côte d’Ivoire SA from 2010 to 2013 and during this time, he acted as General Manager of MTN Mobile Money for the West and Central Africa region.

Mohamed Lamine Bah is the CEO handpicked in 2022 by SUNU GROUP founder Pathé Dione to carry forward his legacy. An actuary trained at Université Laval and HEC Paris, Bah previously led Union Africaine Vie before joining SUNU with a clear mission: expand the group beyond insurance and firmly into banking. He now drives SUNU Bank’s regional growth through strategic acquisitions in Togo and Senegal, with a new bank set to open in Côte d’Ivoire, and oversees the creation of SUNU DigiTech, the group’s unified digital platform for banking and insurance. Aminata Kane Ndiaye has been leading Visa West Africa since September 4, 2025. Her career is marked by strong managerial skills that have enabled her to hold senior positions at the international level. Between 2018 and 2022, she served as CEO of Orange Sierra Leone and Chairperson of the Board of Orange Mobile Finance Sierra Leone. Under her leadership, the subsidiary experienced strong growth, achieving over 20% annual revenue growth and a significant improvement in profitability. She also positioned the company as a key innovator by leading the launch of mobile money microcredit, Orange Energy, and e-Education initiatives. Aminata Kane Ndiaye began her career at Orange in 2013, within the Sonatel group, as Head of B2C Marketing Performance in Senegal. She represents a new generation of African leaders, combining strategic vision with operational expertise.

Serge Ekue took office as President of the West African Development Bank (WADB) on August 28, 2020. A recognized expert in Financial Markets and Capital Markets, Serge headed Natixis’ Capital Markets activities for the Asia-Pacific region for nearly six years (2010-2016) before assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong-based bank. He has over 20 years of experience in International Finance, Structured Finance and Markets having held these broad responsibilities worldwide.

Mamo E. Mihretu is the 10th Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE). Before he was appointed as the Governor of NBE, Mr. Mamo served as the founding CEO of the Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), the strategic investment arm of the Government of Ethiopia. EIH manages all key commercial companies of the Government of Ethiopia, including Ethiopian Airlines, Ethio Telecom and Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Enterprises. Mr. Mamo is a member of Ethiopia’s Macroeconomic Council, which is the body that steers economic policy and strategic decisions. He has been a member and a secretary of the council for the last four and half years. He was an active member of economic team that conceptualized, developed and implemented Ethiopia’s economic reform program. As a Board Member of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) the largest financial institution in the country for four years, Mr. Mamo chaired CBE’s transformation program into a customer centric and risk conscious bank. Mr. Mamo also served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and Ethiopia’s Chief Trade Negotiator from 2018-2021.While working at the office of the prime minister, Mamo helped create the policy and performance department that oversees performance outcomes of Government agencies. Before joining the Ethiopian Government in 2018, Mr. Mamo was a Senior Project Manager at the World Bank Group in Kenya from 2010 to 2018, working mainly on Finance and Competitiveness issues. Mr. Mamo obtained a Masters in Leadership, Public Administration and Economic Development from the Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University in the United States. He also holds a Masters degree in Trade and Investment from the University of Pretoria and University of Amsterdam. He was a gold medalist when he graduated from Addis Ababa University, School of Law.

Dr. Patrick Njoroge served as the ninth Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya from June 2015 to June 2023, after a 20-year career at the International Monetary Fund. He is currently a member of the Advisory Boards of the Yale Program on Financial Stability and the Global Finance and Technology Network, chair of the AFIS Supervisory Council, and a member of the Africa Expert Panel for South Africa’s G20 Presidency. He has received several awards and recognitions, including four awards for Africa’s Central Banker of the Year, and recognition in 2023 as a Top 25 African Finance Leader. He holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University. He is MLK, Jr. and Phyllis Wallace Visiting Scholar at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Tarik Senhaji leads since 2025 the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC). Before his appointment to the AMMC, he held the position of CEO at the Casablanca Stock Exchange, a role he had occupied since 2020, overseeing its strategic development and operations. A graduate of École Polytechnique and ENSAE Paris, he brings over 25 years of experience in the financial sector, much of it internationally, including as a finance officer at the International Finance Corporation in Washington and London. He has also held various senior positions in capital markets at Société Générale, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Calyon CIB, and Natixis CIB.

Tosin Eniolorunda is a leading innovator in the African Fintech space, with a passion for creating financial happiness and a track record of groundbreaking contributions to financial technology in Africa. He is the founder and Group CEO of Moniepoint Inc., ranked as Africa’s fastest-growing fintech for two years running. Moniepoint has more than 1800 employees, is the platform of choice for over ten million businesses and individuals, processes over 800 million transactions – worth $17 billion – per month, all whilst operating profitably. Tosin’s vision is to build an impactful financial technology platform that supports the dreams of millions of small business owners while generating annual revenues of more than $1 billion. He programmed the first point-of-sale software for Interswitch, on which the majority of POS terminals in Nigeria are being run and is currently revolutionising payments for businesses in emerging markets through Moniepoint. He has been recognised by several leading institutions, among them The Central Bank of Nigeria, CB Insights, Endeavor, and PYMNTS, in appreciation for the impact of his work to create innovative solutions.

Idrissa Nassa is the CEO of Coris Bank International, which he helped transform starting in 2007 with the launch of FIB’s activities, renamed Coris Bank International in 2008. Under his leadership, the bank quickly became the second-largest financial institution in Burkina Faso and established itself as a major player in the regional financial sector. In 2010, he expanded the Coris Group by developing stock brokerage and insurance activities, while implementing a strategy for sub-regional expansion. Today, Coris Bank International is the leading bank in Burkina Faso, with subsidiaries in Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Togo, Senegal, Benin, and Niger, nearly 1,000 employees, and strong pan-African ambitions. He also serves as Vice-President of the Burkina Faso Employers’ Council and has received numerous honors, including Knight of the Order of Merit with Economic Clasp (2004), Knight of the National Order (2005), Officer of the National Order (2010), Commander of the National Order (2015), as well as being named CEO of the Year 2025 at the Africa CEO Forum (ACF).

Nezha Hayat currently leads the Fonds Mohammed VI pour l’Investissement (FM6I), a sovereign investment fund tasked with driving strategic investments across key sectors of the Moroccan economy, building on her extensive experience in financial markets and regulatory leadership. A graduate of ESSEC Paris in 1984, Nezha Hayat has nearly forty years of experience in finance. She began her career in Spain as Director of the Corporate Finance Department at Bravo y Garayalde, before returning to Morocco in 1993 to join the offshore branch of BNP Paribas in Tangier. In 1995, she joined Société Générale in Casablanca, at a time when Moroccan capital markets were beginning to modernize. She played a central role in the development of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, where she became a member of the board of directors. She also served two terms as head of the Professional Association of Brokerage Firms (APSB), helping to strengthen market dynamics and promote measures to encourage public listings. She sits on the National Council of the CGEM and contributed to the creation of the Association of Women Business Leaders of Morocco (AFEM).

Delphine Traoré is the Chief Executive Officer of SanlamAllianz General Insurance since September 2023, following the success of the combination of Allianz and Sanlam activities on the African continent. Prior to this appointment, she was the first African woman to hold the highest regional position within the Allianz group: she has been Regional CEO of Allianz Africa from November 2021 to August 2023, while retaining her previous positions as Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer, which she has held since 2017. First African woman to hold the highest regional position within the Allianz group, she was the only black woman on the Executive Committee (Comex) of the Allianz group. Native of Burkina Faso, Delphine is from Orodara, a small village west of Bobo-Dioulasso, the economic capital and second largest city in the country. At the end of her university studies and after a first professional experience, she joined the Allianz Group in 2005, within the Canadian subsidiary of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS). From 2012 to 2017, she was CEO of AGCS Africa in South Africa. To date, she still holds the position of Non-Executive Member on the Executive Committee at AGCS South Africa. Holder of a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, Delphine served consecutively as Vice-President and then President of the African Insurance Organization (AIO) from May 2018 to September 2021, prior to which she was the President of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (2015-2017). She is a member of the Board of Directors of Africa Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re). She also sits on the Boards of African Risk Capacity Ltd (ARC) and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), which aim to increase the prosperity of African farmers through financial inclusion. She recently joined the Board of Ivanhoe Mines as a Non-executive Director. Ivanhoe Mines is a leading Canadian mining company committed to becoming a global leader in the supply of critical resources required to transition our world to a low-carbon, renewable future.

Mr. Roosevelt Ogbonna has been the Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank since May 2022. He previously served as Deputy Managing Director (2017) and Executive Director (2013). With over two decades of banking experience, Mr. Ogbonna combines extensive professional expertise with a distinguished academic background. Mr. Ogbonna is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), an Honorary Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (HCIB), a CFA charter holder, and an alumnus of Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including an MBA from IMD Business School (Switzerland), an LL.M in International Corporate & Commercial Law from King’s College London, and an Executive MBA from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. He has broad boardroom experience, serving as Non-Executive Director of Access Bank’s subsidiaries in the UK and South Africa, and representing the Bank on the boards of investee companies, including African Finance Corporation and CSCS Plc.

Mohamed Hassan Bensalah is the Chairman and CEO of the Moroccan group Holmarcom, a position he has held since 1993. A graduate in management and finance from Université de la Sorbonne and École des Cadres de Paris, he is recognized as one of the key leaders of Morocco’s business landscape. He also serves as President of the Fédération Marocaine de l’Assurance (FMA) and sits on the boards of the CGEM, the GPBM, and Casablanca Finance City. Committed to social and environmental causes, he is a board member of the Fondation Mohammed VI pour la Protection de l’Environnement, the Fondation Mohammed V pour la Solidarité, and the Fondation Alaouite pour le Développement Humain Durable. He is also a member of the Conseil Économique, Social et Environnemental.

Dr. Félix Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE is the Chief Executive Officer of BRVM and the President of ASEA (Association of African Stock Exchanges). He holds a Doctorate in Administrative Sciences (Ph.D.), option Finance, obtained at Laval University in Canada in 1995. He is the architect of the major reforms of the WAEMU (UEMOA) financial market and is considered one of the most influential finance specialists in Africa.

Jean Kacou DIAGOU, an Ivorian national born in Abidjan on August 15, 1946, is the founder and current President of the renowned African financial group, NSIA. After obtaining a high school diploma in philosophy, he earned a master’s degree in Economics from the Félix HOUPHOUËT BOIGNY University of Abidjan, followed by a specialization in insurance at CNAM in Paris. He began his career in insurance, rising to become Vice President of the AXA group for Africa. In 1995, after participating in negotiations on the harmonization of insurance laws in the sub-region and co-authoring the CIMA code (Inter-African Conference on Insurance Markets), he realized the potential for a purely African and transnational insurance operator. This led him to found NSIA, which is now present in twelve (12) Sub-Saharan African countries and includes 1 holding company, 21 life and non-life insurance subsidiaries, 3 banking subsidiaries, 2 banking branches, a management and intermediation company (SGI), an investment fund management company (OPCVM), and a foundation. In 2006, he led the negotiations for the acquisition of BIAO-CI, now NSIA BANQUE, which was listed on the stock exchange in June 2017. Today, NSIA ranks 3rd among insurance groups in the CIMA region and 4th among African banking institutions in the UMOA zone, with the ambition to become the leading Ivorian bank-insurance group. From 2005 to 2016, Jean Kacou DIAGOU headed the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), the Ivorian employers’ association. He also served as President of the Federation of West African Employers’ Organizations (FOPAO) from 2010 to 2016. Additionally, he presided over the African Insurance Organization (AIO) from May 2001 to May 2002 and the Federation of African National Law Insurance Companies (FANAF) from 1990 to 1996.

Françoise Lombard was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Proparco by the Board of Directors on 25 March 2022. Françoise Lombard began her career in 2008 at the Directorate for Financial Affairs of the Ministry of Defence as Deputy Director then Director of the Budget Summary Office. She joined the Treasury Directorate of the Ministry of Finance in 2011, where she was responsible for franc zone monetary cooperation agreements between France and West Africa. She also supervised several multilateral and bilateral development programs in West Africa, on behalf of the French State. In 2012, Françoise Lombard joined the Government Shareholding Agency, first as Deputy to the Bureau Chief responsible for the follow-up of La Poste Group and CNP Assurances, then as Deputy Director of Shareholdings, Services and Finance in 2014. In this capacity, she was a member of the Boards of Directors of La Française des Jeux, SFIL, Radio France and Imprimerie Nationale. She joined Agence française de développement Group in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Committee on 1 January 2018. Françoise Lombard graduated from Sciences Po and is an alumna of the National School of Administration.

Dr George Elombi was appointed President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank during the institution’s Annual General Meeting in Abuja, becoming the Bank’s fourth leader since its creation in 1993. Prior to this appointment, he had served since 2015 as Executive Vice-President in charge of governance, legal affairs, and corporate services. Under his leadership, the Bank’s equity mobilization efforts brought Afreximbank’s ordinary shareholder funds to USD 3.6 billion as of April 2025. From 2010 to 2015, he held the position of Director and Executive Secretary, after serving as Deputy Director, Legal Services and Executive Secretary from 2008 to 2010. Before that, he was Chief Legal Officer (2003–2008) and Senior Legal Officer (2001–2003), having first joined Afreximbank in 1996 as a Legal Officer. Prior to joining the Bank, Dr Elombi taught law at the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. He holds an LL.M. and a PhD in commercial arbitration from the London School of Economics, as well as a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Yaoundé : credentials that underpin his pivotal contribution to the legal and structural development of Afreximbank.

Mustafa Rawji studied at Babson College in Boston, Massachusetts from where he obtained a Master’s degree in finance. He had his first professional experiences at Calyon Bank in Geneva, Switzerland, followed by Crédit Agricole in Paris, France. In 2002, he participated in the creation of Rawbank. Two years later, he took the initiative to acquire additional international banking experience and joined HSBC in Dubai, where he worked for five years as a sales executive in the Corporate, Investment & Merchant Banking department. In September 2009, he joined Rawbank as Deputy Secretary General. He also served as Chairman of the Credit Committee, a role he assumes until this day. In 2013, he successively held the positions of Director of Strategic Development and Vice-president of the Management Committee. In July 2015, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director in charge of support and infrastructure. Since May 2020, he has assumed the position of CEO.

Mr. Adebayo Olawale Edun is the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy of Nigeria, with over 40 years of experience in economics, merchant banking, and international finance. After the 2023 elections, he served on the Presidential Transition Council and was appointed Special Adviser to the President on Monetary Policy. He is Chairman of Chapel Hill Denham Group and has held key governance roles, including Chair of the Ogoni Trust Fund and board member of the restructured Ministry of Finance Incorporated. He founded West Africa Ratings Limited, now part of Moody’s Investors Service. Previously, he served two terms as Lagos State Commissioner for Finance. Earlier roles include Executive Director at the inception of IBTC (now Stanbic IBTC), economist at the World Bank/IFC, and senior positions at Chase Merchant Bank, with international experience at Lehman Brothers and Chase Manhattan in New York. Mr. Edun holds degrees in Economics and Development Economics, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

Bongi Kunene has been the Managing Director of The Banking Association South Africa since March 16, 2020. Before taking on this role, she was the Pan-Africa Head of Public Sector Banking at Standard Bank Group, guiding the business’s strategic direction across 15 African markets. Earlier in her career, she worked at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C., as an Executive Director representing South Africa, Nigeria, and Angola, and led the World Bank Group’s Audit Committee from 2016 to 2018. Her public-sector leadership includes senior positions within the South African government, notably four years in the Presidency, first as Chief of Staff to the Deputy President and later as Deputy Director-General overseeing economic policy coordination. She also headed the Gauteng Department of Finance and Economic Affairs as Superintendent-General and previously held influential roles within the National Treasury. Bongiwe Kunene has contributed to several boards, including South African National Parks, where she chaired the Audit Committee, and the Richard’s Bay Industrial Development Zone, where she served as Chairperson.

Amine BOUABID embodies the pan-African expansion of BANK OF AFRICA, where he has served since November 2021 as Executive Managing Director in charge of Africa. His career of more than 20 years in the banking sector reflects strategic vision and seasoned leadership. Since 2015, he has led and then chaired BOA Group S.A., the group’s holding company, active in over 18 African countries and in France, with consolidated assets of €10.2 billion in 2023. At the helm of this network, Mr. BOUABID drives growth strategies aimed at strengthening regional integration and enhancing the competitiveness of the group’s subsidiaries despite the challenges facing the sector on the continent. In 1996, Mr. BOUABID was entrusted with the mission of creating SALAFIN, a consumer-credit institution and subsidiary of BANK OF AFRICA. He actively contributed to its development until 2015. SALAFIN was listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange in 2007, and by 2015 had achieved a market capitalization of USD 170 million and one of the best returns in the market, with an ROE of around 20% and equity nearing USD 65 million. A visionary leader, Mr. BOUABID also played a role in reforms of the Moroccan financial market, participating in the launch of the first private stock market index of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, demonstrating his commitment to modernizing and developing financial markets in the region.

Omar Cissé is the CEO of InTouch SA, a telecommunications and digital services company. With a strong career in technology and entrepreneurship, he initially served as CEO of 2SI from 2005 to 2010, a company specializing in technical solutions such as video surveillance, IT, and security. He later held leadership roles at the ICT Incubator of Dakar from 2010 to 2013. Since 2014, Omar Cissé has been an Administrator and co-promoter of Téranga Capital, while continuing his role as CEO of InTouch SA. Passionate about ICTs, he is known for his leadership and professional rigor. Academically, Omar Cissé is a graduate of the École Supérieure Polytechnique de Dakar and holds an MBA from the Institut Supérieur de Management (ISM), further enhancing his expertise in business management and strategy.

Abdou Soulèye Diop is a Partner of Mazars, an international audit firm. He is the Managing Partner of Mazars in Morocco, a member of the Board of Mazars in Africa and the Middle East and is in charge of the Business Development of the Group in this region. Abdou Diop is the President of the “”Africa”” Commission of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises-CGEM. He is in charge of strengthening economic relations between Morocco and its partners in the continent.

Ms. Coura Sene is an executive leader with over 20 years of experience in the mobile money, telecom and insurance industries, spanning multiple geographies. She currently serves as the Regional Director of Wave Digital Finance and is a key member of Wave’s leadership team. Under Coura’s stewardship Wave has witnessed explosive growth in Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and increasingly, the rest of Francophone West Africa. As General Manager for the region, she is responsible for licensing, policy, new products, talent management and scaling operations. Ms. Sene started out in her career as an software engineer then as a project manager working in the insurance sector in France for over a decade. In 2012, she decided to return to Senegal to support the growth and innovation that the African continent was witnessing, especially Francophone Africa. She has supported multiple companies in digitization through technical advisory and was one of the early supporters of the role of mobile money services in achieving financial inclusion in the WAEMU region. Ms. Sene has a Master’s in engineering and is a graduate of the prestigious Polytech Polytech’Lille, University of Lille, in France. She is passionate about technology and the power of Fintechs in driving economic transformation on the African continent. Ms. Sene also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Auchan Sénégal, one of the largest multinational retailers in the world. She is an avid supporter and contributor of various initiatives that encourage Women’s Economic Empowerment on the continent.

Hon. Soraya Munyana Hakuziyaremye was appointed Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda on 15 March 2021. Prior to that, she served as Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry from October 2018 to March 2021; where she oversaw the implementation of the “Made in Rwanda” policy, contributing to the 9% average annual growth of the industry sector and increase in exports. During her time as Minister of Trade, she also served as Chair of the EAC Sectoral Council on Investment and Trade, contributing to the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement (AfCFTA), as well as in the National Covid-19 Taskforce, overseeing the management of domestic trade and cross-border trade flows during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before her tenure as Cabinet Member, Hon. Soraya M. Hakuziyaremye worked as Vice President in Financial Institutions/Financial Markets Risk Department at ING Bank in London from 2016 to 2018. She also worked in various senior risk management positions at BNP Paribas Group in Paris, Fortis Bank and the Bank of New York Mellon in Brussels from 2002 to 2011. Hon. Soraya M. Hakuziyaremye served as Senior Advisor to Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2014. She was a board member of Ngali Holdings as well as co-founder ofthe Brussels-Africa Hub, an international non-profit organization, led by Banking and Finance leaders with the mission to facilitate sustainable and responsible investments towards Africa. Hon. Soraya M. Hakuziyaremye brings a rich experience in global banking and financial advisory. She holds a postgraduate degree in International Management from the Thunderbird Graduate School of Global Management at Arizona State University in the U.S., as well as a Masters in Business Engineering (Ingénieur de Gestion) from the Solvay Business School at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. She is also an alumna of the Executive Public Leaders Program at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government.

Hussein Abaza was appointed Managing Director and CEO of Banque du Caire in September 2024, bringing over 30 years of banking expertise to lead one of Egypt’s largest state-owned banks. Under his leadership, the bank focuses on innovation, offering a wide range of personalized banking solutions and digital services to over 4 million customers. Before joining Banque du Caire, Mr. Abaza held several senior roles at CIB, including CEO and Managing Director from 2021 to 2024, and CEO from 2017 to 2021. He played a key role in driving the bank’s expansion, overseeing major milestones such as the growth of its Investor Relations program and a significant increase in market capitalization. His earlier career at CIB also included leadership of Institutional Banking, Operations, and Risk Management. Mr. Abaza’s experience extends beyond CIB, having served as Head of Research and Managing Director at EFG Hermes Asset Management, as well as Chairman of Cl Capital. He holds a BA in Business Administration from AUC and has completed advanced training in Belgium, Switzerland, London, and New York.

A graduate of the Mohammadia School of Engineers, Ouafae Mriouah began her career in organizational and digital transformation, first at BMCI before joining the CDG Group in 2000. There, she contributed to major projects, including the design and implementation of the IT master plan. In 2006, she played a key role in the establishment of CDG Capital, the group’s investment bank, where she held various leadership positions in capital markets and asset management. In 2013, she was appointed CEO of CDG Capital Gestion, a subsidiary specializing in OPCVM management, while also serving as Deputy CEO of CDG Capital, overseeing all capital market and asset management activities. In July 2023, leveraging her extensive experience and recognized leadership, Ouafae Mriouah was appointed CEO of Société Centrale de Réassurance, a strategic subsidiary of the CDG Group, with the mission of strengthening its position as a national and regional leader in the reinsurance sector.

Simon Tiemtore is the President of Vista Bank Group and the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Lilium, an African strategic investment company focused on Financial Services, Energy, Healthcare, Agro-processing, and FMCG. He has over 18 years of experience in Legal, Tax, Banking, and Financial Services. Until 2015, he was Group Head of Corporate Finance and Advisory Services at Afreximbank and a member of its Executive Management Committee, leading several African investment banking and debt capital markets transactions. Previously, he worked at Morgan Stanley in New York, managing M&A, asset management, and divestitures across the US, Europe, and Asia, and earlier at PwC and Skadden Arps, New York. A 2021 winner of the Rebranding Africa Forum Business Leadership Award, he serves on the boards of the US Chamber of Commerce-Africa (co-chairing the Banking and Financial Institutions Task Force), the US Chamber of Commerce-Ecowas Initiative, and the TEN Children Foundation. He is a member of the New York Bar, the American Bar Association (International Law Section), and the NYU Weinfeld Fellows Program. He holds an LLM from New York University, an LLM in International Studies from American University – Washington College of Law, and an LLB from the University of Ouagadougou.

Dr. Emomotimi Agama is the Director-General of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), appointed in April 2024. With over 20 years of experience at the SEC, he has held key roles, including Managing Director of the Nigerian Capital Market Institute. He has led initiatives to modernise capital market regulations, introduce cryptocurrency frameworks, and enhance investor protection. Dr. Agama holds an honors degree in Accountancy, dual master’s degrees in Banking and Finance and Economics, and a PhD in Economics, focusing on cryptocurrency’s impact on Nigeria’s economy. He is also a Fellow of the IFC–Milken Institute Capital Markets Program.

Mr. Paul-Harry Aithnard is the Managing Director of Ecobank Cote d’Ivoire & Regional Executive, UEMOA since December 2018. Prior to this, he was Ecobank Group Head, Securities, Wealth and Asset Management since September 2012, in charge of brokerage, debt & equity capital markets as well as wealth and fund management activities. In this position, he has grown assets under management to $ 1Billion and has earned Ecobank the “Best Performing Broker in Africa” award, according to Africa Investor Magazine in 2015. Prior to this position, he was the Group Head Research of Ecobank Group from 2008 to 2014. Under his responsibility, the Research Division was awarded as the best “Research Team in Africa” over 3 consecutive years between 2011 and 2013. Prior to joining Ecobank, Paul-Harry worked in various positions between 2000 and 2008 with BBSP, a leading Investment Advisory firm located in Paris, Montreal and Singapore. As Global Head of Commodities, and Co-Head of Global Macro Advisory in Paris, Paul-Harry supervised all global macro and commodities research at BBSP and advised key institutional clients (Banks, Asset managers, Hedge funds) on investment strategies in various assets/markets, including commodities, fixed income, equity and currency markets in Africa. From 2000 to 2007, Paul-Harry was the Deputy Managing Director of the BBSP North American affiliate, in charge of Global Advisory and Sales. Paul-Harry holds a Master’s degree in History from Sorbonne Paris IV, a postgraduate Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Finance from HEC Montreal.

Olusegun Alebiosu was appointed the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank Group) in June 2024. He was until this appointment the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer since April 2024. He was previously Executive Director, Chief Risk Officer and Executive Compliance Officer from January 2022 until 20 April 2024. Prior to that appointment, he was the Group Executive/ Chief Risk Officer, a position he held since 2016. M. Alebiosu brings to the Executive Management of FirstBank over 28 years’ experience in the banking and financial services industry with cross-functional exposure to Credit risk management, Financial planning and control, Credit and marketing, Trade, Corporate and commercial banking, Agriculture financing, Oil and Gas, Transportation (including Aviation and Shipping) and Project financing. He started his professional career in 1991 with Oceanic Bank Plc. (now EcoBank Plc.) and prior to joining FirstBank in 2016 served as Chief Risk Officer at Coronation Merchant Bank Limited, Chief Credit Risk Officer at African Development Bank Group and Group Head, Credit Policy & Deputy Chief Credit Risk Officer at United Bank for Africa Plc. M. Alebiosu is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, and also a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos. He obtained a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and completed Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School He is a member of various professional bodies namely, Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA), Associate, Nigeria Institute of Management (ANIM), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and Member, Nigeria Institute of International Affairs.
